A service is unreachable

A short ordered checklist before you open a ticket.

  1. Check the service statusThe service page shows whether the platform believes the service is running.
  2. Check the status pageAn open incident in your region explains more than any local test will.
  3. Test the address, not the nameIf the address answers but the name does not, it is DNS, not the server.
  4. Check your own firewallA rule added inside the operating system is the most common cause of a sudden loss of access.
  5. Use the consoleWhere the plan supports it, console access works even when the network configuration does not.

When you open a ticket

Include the service reference and what you have already checked. It removes a round trip.
